Geotextile Material

A geotextile is defined as any permeable textile material that is used with foundation, soil, rock, earth which increase stability and decrease wind and water erosion. A geotextile may be made of synthetic or natural fibers. In contrast, a geomembrane is a continuous membrane-type liner or barrier geomembrane must have sufficiently low permeability to control migration of fluid in a constructed project, structure or system. A geotextile is designed to be permeable to allow the flow of fluids through whereas a geomembrane is designed to restrict the fluid flow.

Geotextiles have been used for thousands of years. These early geotextiles were made of natural fiber, fabrics or vegetation mixed with soil to improve road quality, particularly when roads were made on unstable soil. Then now, geotextile have used for modern construction. Although geotextiles have historically been made of natural plant, modern geotextiles are usually made from a synthetic polymer, such as polypropylene, polyester, polyethylene and polyamides. Geotextile yang digunakan dalam Embankment memiliki prosedur pelaksanaan tersendiri ,  prosedur awal haruslah menyiapkan lahan, bekisting dan geotextile. Yang lebih diperhatikan disini adalah, alangkah lebih baik bila menyingkirkan benda-benda tajam yang kemungkinan dapat menusuk geotextile itu sendiri. Lalu geotextile tersebut dipotong-potong menurut ukuran yang telah ditentukan, potongan tersebut seperti lembaran yang setelah itu dijahit melintang. Lalu antara lembaran-lembaran tersebut digabungkan sesuai kapasitas pengurugan dan juga siapkan sisanya untuk penambungan panel berikutnya. (more…)

Kali ini kita akan membahas sedikit mengenai pemasangan HDPE dimana HDPE merupakan bahan dasar dari Geomembrane.

Pada pemasangan HDPE LINER pada awalnya sebaiknya harus mempersiapkan pola-pola atau layout untuk masing-msing saluran, angkur tepi dari liner, pertemuan pipa liner, serta struktur serta pipa linear secara detailnya dari konsultan atau owner yang bersangkutan, selain itu program kerja dan materi pendukung juga diikutsertakan sehingga perkiraan bisa lebih akurat lagi.
